Sunrise Telecom Sets Standard For Comprehensive DOCSIS And Euro DOCSIS 2.0 For Next-Generation Networks
San Jose, CA - Sunrise Telecom Incorporated, a leader in test and measurement solutions for telecom, cable and wireless networks recently announced the introduction of the CM2000E. The CM2000E cable modem network analyzer is designed specifically to verify, test and troubleshoot DOCSIS and Euro DOCSIS 2.0 network performance by analyzing analog and digital video, high speed data (HSD) cable modems and Voice (VoIP) traffic on the network. The CM2000E is the only instrument to test both 6 and 8 MHz IF signals for comprehensive DOCSIS, digital video and analog channels analysis. These new tools, combined with an Internet Explorer web browser, previously only available on an adjunct laptop, make Sunrise Telecom's CM2000E a very cost effective cable modem network analyzer because it does not require an external PC. The CM2000E extends Sunrise Telecom's leadership position in handheld cable modem network analyzers designed to speed deployment of next-generation networks (NGN).
"The CM2000E provides the most comprehensive testing and troubleshooting capabilities for DOCSIS and Euro DOCSIS networks in a single, easy-to-use cable modem network analyzer," said Bahaa Moukadam, Sunrise Telecom's vice President of marketing. "By simplifying the test process, the CM2000E ensures that essential tests will be completed with accurate results, improving the quality and reliability of high-speed data, VoIP telephony, digital and analog video services."
Created expressly to meet the needs of the Cable TV operators deploying analog and digital video, HSD and VoIP services, the CM2000E combines customizable verification and troubleshooting capabilities with pre-defined automated test suites and the industry's first full VGA color touch screen. These unique features enable operators to speed installations and reduce repair time while significantly increasing quality of service (QoS).
The CM2000E ensures that networks operate within acceptable margins, well within the "digital cliff" parameters and other potential failures through a combination of programmable auto-tests, the ability to verify QoS with qualitative measurements on digital signals, and by testing HSD deployments in excess of 30 Mb/s. The new unit simplifies qualification, testing, and troubleshooting by allowing technicians to test both the upstream and downstream for MOS, latency, R-factor, jitter and packet loss without special provisioning.
The CM2000E provides comprehensive testing capability with analog, digital, cable modem, VoIP and Ethernet testing capabilities reducing the number of tools the technician needs to certify, test and troubleshoot the network. The CM2000E also covers a broad range of applications allowing users to start with a basic instrument and upgrade as their needs and responsibilities expand.
Easily added options provide measurement capabilities for a wide range of users, from installers to maintenance technicians and network operation center engineers. The web browser capability allows the technician to demonstrate network performance to the customer and to communicate with back office tools to check provisioning, CMTS data, workforce management systems, VoIP call quality and other metrics. In addition, the Windows CE operating system offers a compelling platform because of its user familiarity, Internet Explorer browser, and flexibility for future expansion.
