EADS Receives Order From Toshiba For Semiconductor Process Tester

Irvine, CA - EADS North America Test and Services, a division of EADS North America, recently announced a contract from Toshiba Corporation Semiconductor Company for its 5032 Environmental Stress Screening System. Toshiba will be using the 5032 for reliability testing of its newest 40/45nm semiconductor production technology.

"EADS offers an innovative solution for our cutting-edge reliability testing," commented a senior manager of Toshiba Corporation's System LSI Quality and Reliability Engineering Department. "Precise junction temperature control is the essential element for effective environmental stress testing. Without precise temperature control, production test time is wasted and reliability test results are meaningless. EADS' single-phase technology provides the most accurate closed-loop control for our most advanced device technologies."

EADS North America Test and Services' 5032 is the newest environmental stress screening system in the company's expanding product line. The 5032 and the 5029 systems are used for process evaluation purposes, while the 5030 is automated for the highest possible product throughput for volume environmental stress screening testing. EADS is a leading supplier of environmental stress screening systems to the semiconductor manufacturing market.

"The 5032 offers the benefits of closed-loop thermal control without the complexity and expense of the two-phase refrigeration systems normally used for environmental stress screening testing," said James F. Mulato, the President of EADS North America Test and Services. "We appreciate Toshiba's confidence in our products and the opportunity to support this critical process technology development."
