Anite Selects 4M Wireless LTE Protocol Stack For Testing

London, United Kingdom - Anite plc a global leader in testing technology for the wireless industry, has selected the 4M Wireless LTE protocol stack for comprehensive verification of the Anite SAT(H) LTE protocol test solution. 4M Wireless Ltd is the only company providing a complete LTE UE terminal protocol stack that is already being used in the industry. The 4M Wireless solution allows Anite to carry out interoperability tests of all protocol layers compliant to the latest 3GPP LTE specifications. The two companies have already extensively tested the MAC, RLC, and PDCP and are currently the first in the world to carry out full interoperability tests of the RRC and NAS protocol layers for LTE.

The 4M Wireless LTE stack is part of the company's LTEST product provided to Anite. Anite's SAT(H) is a host-based protocol tester for mobile user equipment development. The SAT(H) assists developers of the LTE UE protocol stack in testing their protocol implementation at an early stage and carry out advanced stability tests prior to ASIC and FPGA involvement. By using the 4M Wireless UE protocol stack solution for verification, Anite will be able to deliver fully tested protocol test tools to its terminal equipment customers.

The 3GPP Release 8 specifications for LTE are scheduled to be completed by the end of this year and companies are quickly developing their products in line with the standard. With their first-to-market solutions, 4M Wireless and Anite are ideally positioned to meet the aggressive schedules of the LTE market.

"4M Wireless is far ahead in the industry in developing LTE terminal protocol stack software and we are very pleased to enable a global leader such as Anite in its efforts to produce best in class LTE test products," said Atif Malik, CEO, 4M Wireless. "4M Wireless is committed to providing the highest quality software to its customers. We shall be working very closely with Anite to rigorously test and independently verify the LTE products of the two companies."

"Anite leads the market in the provision of host-based protocol test solutions for the wireless industry," said Paul Beaver, Business Unit Director, Anite. "We are delighted to be working with 4M Wireless and the use of LTEST within our verification process will help drive robustness and advanced feature availability in our LTE SAT(H) product suite. It is through these relationships that we are pioneering the eco-system needed to make LTE a commercial success."
